Professor (Mrs.) Emmanuella A. Olubanke Sogebi is a Veterinary Anaesthesiologist, researcher, and educator specializing in Veterinary Anaesthesia, Pain Management, and Animal Welfare. She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and a Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) degree from the University of Ibadan, as well as a PhD in Veterinary Anaesthesiology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). With nearly two decades of experience in teaching, research, and professional training, she has published extensively in local and international journals, supervised postgraduate students, and contributed to the advancement of veterinary medicine through her involvement in national and international professional bodies, including the Veterinary Council of Nigeria and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management.
Biography
Professor (Mrs.) Emmanuella A. Olubanke Sogebi is a distinguished Veterinary Anaesthesiologist, researcher, educator, and academic leader with nearly two decades of experience in veterinary medicine. She earned her DVM and MVSc degrees from the University of Ibadan and a PhD in Veterinary Anaesthesiology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Her expertise spans veterinary anaesthesia, pain management, and animal welfare, strengthened through advanced professional training in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Prof. Sogebi has published over 33 scholarly articles, edited six conference proceedings, and supervised numerous Master's and PhD students. She has held key leadership and administrative roles within FUNAAB and the Postgraduate College of Veterinary Surgeons of Nigeria. An active member of several national and international professional bodies, she also serves on the Board of Directors of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. Through her research, teaching, mentorship, and professional service, she continues to advance veterinary medicine and animal welfare both in Nigeria and globally.
