Sarah Anyang Agbor is a distinguished Cameroonian academic, education leader, and policy expert with over 20 years of experience in higher education and international development. She serves as Vice President of the Africa Board of the Forum for African Women Educationalists and is the former African Union Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology. Professor Agbor is recognized for her work advancing education, youth empowerment, gender equality, science, technology, and innovation across Africa.
Biography
Professor Sarah Anyang Agbor is a renowned Cameroonian academic, educator, and policy leader with over two decades of experience advancing higher education, research, and sustainable development across Africa. A Professor of African and Commonwealth Literature, she has held distinguished leadership roles including African Union Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology, Inspector of Academic Affairs at Cameroon's Ministry of Higher Education, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Cooperation and Relations with the Business World at the University of Bamenda, and Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at the University of Scranton. She currently serves as Vice President of the Africa Board of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) and is a member of the advisory board of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Division for Prosperity. Throughout her career, Professor Agbor has championed quality education, youth empowerment, women's advancement, scientific innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development, making significant contributions to shaping Africa's education, science, technology, and innovation agenda while promoting opportunities for future generations.
