Professor Ferina Marimuthu is a distinguished academic leader with over two decades of experience in higher education, specialising in Accounting and Finance. She holds a PhD in Finance (UKZN), an MBA (UDW), and advanced qualifications in Cost & Management Accounting. As a respected scholar, Professor Marimuthu has received multiple merit awards for academic excellence and has authored influential accounting textbooks and numerous DHET-accredited journal articles and book chapters. Recognised locally and internationally, Professor Marimuthu serves on the editorial boards and as a reviewer for esteemed journals, as well as for academic conferences worldwide, including SAAA, ICGA, EBEE, and INTED. Her research interests encompass managerial accounting and finance, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability accounting. She has spearheaded international collaborations and project leaderships, notably with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia and universities in Mexico and Ghana. As an experienced supervisor and Head of Department, Professor Marimuthu is known for her strategic vision, effective project management, and commitment to mentoring the next generation of accounting professionals. She is passionate about driving change, embracing innovation, and advancing the field of accounting through impactful research and progressive educational practices.
