Prof. Michelle Bloor
Prof. Michelle Bloor is a leading ecotoxicologist specializing in the management of chemicals, waste, and pollution. With over 24 years of experience as a government scientist and academic, she has played a pivotal role in policy development, research initiatives, and international collaborations focused on environmental protection and sustainability. Prof. Bloor is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Sustainable Environment journal, Research Director for Scotland’s National Centre for Resilience, a Senior Fellow at the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Public Policy and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Prof. Bloor holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Oxford and Manchester Metropolitan University, as well as a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southampton.  A recognized thought leader, Prof. Bloor is a member of the United Nations Environmental Programme’s (UNEP) Roster of Experts and actively advises the European Commission, UK Government, and international bodies on chemicals, waste, and pollution policy. She is a Past President of SETAC Europe (Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry) and has received multiple Presidential Citations for her scientific contributions. Prof. Bloor also chairs the SETAC Advisory Panel on Chemicals Management and represents SETAC in UNEP’s global science-policy initiatives. Her commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and impactful science continues to shape policy and practice in environmental sustainability worldwide.
